What We Do
The goal of NAMI Middlesex NJ is to be available when families, caregivers, and persons with mental illness need help, guidance, and support. We are primarily a volunteer organization. Crisis Resources
If you or a loved one is in immediate danger, or the situation escalates into a crisis, you can get help by calling 911 and talking with police. It may be necessary. Thankfully, there are a few things you can do to keep the situation as calm as possible. It is important to notify the operator that it is a psychiatric emergency and ask for police officers trained in crisis intervention or trained to assist people experiencing a psychiatric emergency.
